LEAVING YOUR LEGACY

Step 1

Start.

It's that simple... Don't overthink this project. Your goal is to get your thoughts, memories, and pictures in order so you can compile a legacy to leave for your grand, great grands, and beyond.

Step 2

Have Fun.

Compiling your memories, good or bad, doesn't have to be difficult. Take it in small chunks of time. Start with a specific age of your youth and just roll with what memories come back. Have fun remembering, or... Have fun learning from the lessons if they are hard memories. Fun doesn't always mean parties and rainbows-- it can mean finally healing. Finally accepting. Or finally sharing.

Step 3

K.I.S.S.

(That's fun, right?!)

Keep It Super Simple

We want you to have fun with this project... but don't get overwhelmed with programs, journals, organizing, or templates. Just do it and keep it simple. Grab a $0.25 notebook from the store and a pencil, and write. Get your shoebox of photographs out and remember. Spend one hour a week, (or day?) and just think. It will compile itself as you do this. The stress of organizing and planning causes delays. The goal is to live your life and remember it well, so others can learn and love. Don't confuse this goal with trying to write a literary masterpiece.
