Each of us has a story to tell. Join a seasoned duo of writers and editors from Letters For Us for a session on compiling legacies about yourself and those you hold close. Results can be short memoirs and provide the foundation for life stories and more.

Attend or Host a Coaching Session. We offer experienced coaching on all aspects of memoirs and life stories. We have a passion for telling personal stories and look forward to sharing tips and tools to get your mind rolling, writing, sharing. Coaching hours are for more one-on-one or one project, whole team sessions.

Love of the Land

Summer Writing Series

An inspiring experience for writers in the beautiful country setting of Providence Organic Farm in Central Lake. This is for all who enjoy writing for pleasure or for publication, including journals, essays, poetry, memoirs, non-fiction and fiction books.

Save Your Seat!

The Love of the Land workshops include inspirational self-guided farm walks on over 20 acres just off US 31 in northern Michigan.

 

Participants are welcome to experience and ask questions about the extensive organic vegetable and flower gardens, working barn, CSA operation. The Providence Farm Market offers an array of organic produce, pastured pork, honey, baked goods, coffee from Providence and local farms. 

Attendees are encouraged to submit brief essay or poetry submissions (Upload Below) in advance. 

Topics of inspiration include:

Your love of the land

Nature Exploration

Sustainable agriculture

Gardening

Preservation

This workshop series include discussions, readings and display of submissions for group feedback. 

 

Aspiring authors will hear from published writers and seasoned editors, including Virginia Johnson, local author of recently published memoir, 'Ira’s Farm, Growing up on a self-sustaining farm in the 1930s and 1940s.' 

Sessions are interactive discussion/presentations offering tips and ideas for writing, engaging, publishing. Each speaker will offer hands-on advice around expertise and experience. Breakouts will include time for follow up writing and sharing throughout. All presenters will offer additional books or services, coaching.

Writing Workshops

Each of us has a personal story to tell, a legacy to share. Be inspired to write and share yours and of those you hold close among lavender fields, working bee gardens, herbal gardens and more. Join writing coaches Jen & Jenn, who have deep experience in storytelling, writing, creating legacies and memoirs. They invite you to sign up for one or both sessions with different themes and writing prompts.
